For a World-Famous Restaurant: Indian Accent, New Delhi
The Lowdown: The only restaurant in India to feature in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016, Indian Accent is an award-winning restaurant in New Delhi. Indian Accent has been awarded the San Pellegrino Best Restaurant Award in India by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016 for the second consecutive year and has also been rated as the No.1 restaurant in India by TripAdvisor for 2015. This restaurant is all about inventive Indian cuisine, with a mix of traditional Indian ingredients and modern techniques, for something truly special.
Eat: Chef Manish Mehrotra has designed Indian Accent’s contemporary Indian menu combining fresh seasonal produce and unusual ingredients from across the world. Expect delights such as burratta papdi chaat with tamatar chutney, a beautiful black dairy dal and, for veggies, masala wild mushrooms with water chestnut and paper roast dosai. For dessert, there’s a lovely haji ali inspired custard apple cream. Glorious.

For a View: SKKY Lounge and Bar, Mumbai
The Lowdown: One of the best fine dining restaurants in India, SKKY is Ramada Powai’s signature lounge and bar – and one of the first rooftop dining experiences in Mumbai. Embark on a culinary journey here surrounded by the ambience of lush greenery and flowing waters – and enjoy the surrounding hills that whistle with cool breezes and the sheer expanse of open skies and twinkling stars above you.
Eat: Tantalise your taste buds with a selection of pan-asian cuisine, gourmet pizza, Middle Eastern delicacies and an absolutely divine dessert menu with handcrafted ice-creams, all of it complemented by a superb selection of domestic and international spirits, wines, signature cocktails and sundowners. For Something Special: Caravela at Vivanta by Taj
The Lowdown: The restaurants at Vivanta by Taj – Holiday Village, Goa, keep up with the ever expanding, ever changing experience of the beach destination. Treat your taste buds to something new and exciting every day, with some amazing restaurant choices.
Eat: Enjoy the best authentic North Indian cuisine at Caravela, and soak up the relaxed ambience of the restaurant. Recharge in the casual ambience with open, interactive kitchens and outside dining that overlooks the sea. Take your pick from the buffet, or sit back and relish a menu specially designed by their chefs, with dishes such as grilled lobster and Achari Jhinga.

For an Experience: Bukhara Restaurant, New Delhi
The Lowdown: This is a must-visit in India – one of the coolest fine dining restaurants in India. Bukhara, open since 1978, offers a sophisticated yet totally unique experience, with stonewalls, flooring and special Bukhara carpets. While dining, guests are given checked aprons and are encouraged to eat with their hands to experience the food through all their senses. The view of the kitchen, with the busy chefs, adds to the warmth of the restaurant, making it one of India’s best restaurants. In the last 35 years, Bukhara has won more than 37 awards and accolades – can’t say fairer than that.
Eat: The food at Bukhara is cooked in clay ovens in the traditional style of the Indian North-West Frontier region. The world renowned Dal Bukhara, a combination of whole black lentils, tomato, ginger and garlic, is cooked and simmered over slow coal fires of the tandoor overnight for 18 hours! You must also try their Murgh Malai Kebabs – they’re a real highlight here.

The Lowdown: Villa Maya is a lovingly restored 18th century Dutch manor, that once enjoyed the attention of the royal house of Travancore. In the spirit of its noble heritage, it continues to exude timeless elegance through contemporary design and haute cuisine. Expect authentic traditional cuisines from around the world in a sophisticated dining experience – this is one restaurant you won’t want to miss.
