Need a pick-me-up? We love nothing more than a bit of self-care, and it shouldn’t be limited to just lazy Sundays in your PJs. Fill your week with things that make you happy, and your heart will thank you. From hair treatments to facials, here’s our favourite treatments you need to try in London this month:

1. For a Facial: Gazelli House

What: You rock up to a spa nowadays and it’s always the same; beige walls, beige towels, a pan pipe CD playing in the corner. But, friends, there’s a spa that’s so unbelievably homey and swish – you really don’t want to roll back on the tube afterwards. Nestled down a quaint street near South Kensington Tube is Gazelli House; a spa that’s decorated in such a way, you feel like you’re kicking back in a chic Manhattan apartment.

The Treatment: Every treatment at Gazelli House is tailored to your skins needs and requirements, with hands-on analysis techniques combined with a series of targeted questions. If the winter chill and harsh winds have taken a toll on your sweet money maker, choose the bespoke facial – it’s 60 minutes of pure bliss. Often with facials you leave momentarily relaxed, and your face soaked in oil, but the Gazelli House facial is gentle on the skin and you end up with a natural glow. The facial targets problem areas (whether that’s dry, oily or sensitive skin), and includes a minimum of two of the following: Oxygen Infusion, Abdominal Massage, High Frequency, Paraffin, Microdermabrasion and LED Light Therapy.

2. For Colour Correction: Keats Hair

What: There are times in life when it all goes horribly wrong. I’m talking about getting your hair dyed, asking for some ‘sun kissed’ streaks and ending up with what can only be described as a Keith Lemon do. Brassy, slightly yellow locks is not the 2018 look, and so I had to make a quick dash to one of the only salons I trust in the capital: Keats Hair in lovely, leafy Hampstead.

The Treatment: When I say my hair was a state, it really was a state. I recommend booking in a consultation with Milena who is the colour correction fairy godmother. Milena made sure the change was gradual, and that the colour used wouldn’t send my hair green (it can happen, people). Over the three hours my hair turned from a disaster zone into a luscious barnet of non-brassy locks. My hair was so damaged from the bleach, Milena used Oplex which restored my hair and gave it some much needed TLC. You never want a dying disaster, but when it happens – get down to Keats. They’re a team of miracle workers.

3. For a Vitamin Drip: Covent Garden Aesthetic Clinic

What: Vitamin drips are taking London’s health scene by storm, and are well loved for their impressive health benefits to instantly replenish mineral and vitamin levels. Hidden down Diagon Alley (the street actually appeared on Harry Potter), Covent Garden Aesthetic Clinic specialise in various treatments such as teeth whitening, hair loss and vitamin drips. If, like me, the festive season has taken its toll – the vitamin drip will have you feeling a million dollars in less than an hour.

The Treatment: Needles are not my thing (I have tiny veins), but the whole procedure is quick, easy and painless, with good results. After a quick assessment with one of the clinic’s professionals, you will be guided in the right direction to select an appropriate IV Drip to suit your needs. Choose from the Immune Booster, Athlete Sport Vitamin Drip, Mood Support, Hair Tonic Vitamin Drip or the Energiser Vitamin Drip. All drips contian a healthy cocktail of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and anti-oxidants – and will help rehydrate your body, sleep like a baby, and glow for days after. If Covent Garden isn’t convenient for you, the gang are opening a clinic in Moorgate very soon.

4. For Mole Removal: Harley Street Skin Clinic

What: When a clinic is situated on the world famous medical street you know you’re in safe hands. Harley Street Skin Clinic has been established for over 10 years, and the team of leading doctors and surgeons offer the best treatments in the business. Skin procedures (both invasive and non-invasive) are a big deal, and often can be quite daunting. I’d say  do your research beforehand, and find a clinic that you feel most comfortable with. I was recommended Harley Street Skin Clinic by a pal, and I can’t recommend these guys and gals enough.

The Treatment: Mole removal is a treatment I’ve wanted done for years, but never got round to actually having it done, until recently. A mole can be a beauty spot for some, but it was a confidence knocker for me. Moles can be a concern, and a small number may go on to develop a form of skin cancer so called malignant melanoma (the team will check out the mole beforehand to see). After the consultation has been performed, the whole procedure lasts less than 10 minutes. It’s super speedy and the results are belting. Moles are removed by radio therapy, instead of cutting into the skin. It’s the best way for mole removal, as you aren’t left with any scarring afterwards.

5. For a Blow Dry: Carol Joy London

What: There’s having a blow dry, and then there’s having a blow dry at Carol Joy Salon at The Dorchester. The whole salon just oozes sass. If you’re not familiar with Carol Joy, the team have revolutionised the way hair and beauty treatments are experienced. Every treatment uses their own formulated products, each containing clinically proven, active ingredients such as Pure Collagen and Refined Golden Millet Oil.

The Treatment: There’s something so soothing about having a blow dry, and when you’re hair is bouncy and full of life – you can’t have a bad day. I rolled in with an untamed barnet, and I rolled out with locks that would made Cindy Crawford weep with JOY. Hair is washed and conditioned using Carol Joy London formulated products, and is then followed by the best bit: a Shiatsu Acupressure scalp massage. The team at Carol Joy London really know their stuff, and will style and blow dry your hair in order to suit your face. This is a salon to keep in your little black book.
