Top 10: Places to Watch Fireworks in LondonBy Angelica Malin
Whether you want to watch the fireworks snuggled up in a blanket on Primrose Hill with a bottle of red wine, or whilst having a swanky meal at the top of the Heron Tower, we’ve got just the place for you. We searched through London with a hand from our friends at Yelp to find the top 10 spots to watch the fireworks this year:
#1 For Atmosphere: The Shard
It’s hard to find a better spot than London’s highest viewing platform, located on the 68th, 69th and 72nd floors of the Western Europe’s tallest building. The only way to trump the experience is by enjoying both the views and the delicious food at one of the Shard’s celebrated restaurants.

#2 For Romance: Primrose Hill
Primrose Hill is a very popular and a rather obvious option. Its usual aura of tranquility vanishes around the Guy Fawkes night as numerous Londoners descend upon the 256 feet (or 78 metres) tall hill. There are no displays planned for this venue, but it’s a great spot for watching the nearby fireworks.

#3 For Trendies: Dalston Roof Park
Located in the heart of hipster London, Dalston Roof Park is a great spot for enjoying the views over a fine beer. Located on the 4th floor, the aptly named Dalston Roof Park offers a great view of East London and nearby fireworks displays.
4.5 stars on Yelp: Print House, 18 Ashwin Street, London E8 3DL
#4 For Grandeur: Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace is guaranteed to be one of the best spots in North London. Not only is the usual firework display back at the venue on the 1st September, but it’s also perfect for admiring distant celebrations from the top of the hill.
4 stars on Yelp: Alexandra Palace Way, Wood Green, London N22 7AY
#5 For Privacy: Greenwich Observatory
While there are no displays planned for Greenwich, it’s a great location for watching distant celebrations as well as the nearby Blackheath fireworks. The vast park grounds also mean that you’re unlikely to be literally rubbing shoulders with other visitors.
4.5 stars on Yelp: Blackheath Avenue, Greenwich, London SE10 8XJ
#6 For Swankiness: Duck & Waffle
Another extravagant option is the Duck & Waffle restaurant, located on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower. The restaurant is open 24/7 and offers a birds-eye view of the Big Smoke – perfect for watching the fireworks while tucking into a Michellin-starred meal.
– 4 stars on Yelp: Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate 40th Floor, London EC2N 4AY
#7 For Ease: Waterloo Bridge
Waterloo Bridge is a great venue to watch the fireworks in conclusion of the Lord Mayor’s Show. Alternatively, spectators can opt for the Blackfriars Bridge to catch the views after 5.15pm on the 8th November.
4 stars on Yelp: Waterloo Bridge, Lambeth, London SE1
#8 For Sparkles: Clissold Park
Clissold Park is set to erupt with fireworks after a decade of silence. The special pyromusical display is scheduled for the 8th November. There’s no doubt the spectacle will attract a lot of crowds, but rest assured that the park is big enough to accommodate all visitors.

#9 For Fun: Blackheath Common
The classic Blackheath Common fireworks display is back with a bang. Offering drinks, food, rides and fireworks, Blackheath is set to be one of the most popular Fawkes night spectacles in the city.

#10 For Coolness: The Radio Bar
With its stunning views and delicious cocktails The Radio Bar is an ideal venue for the Guy Fawkes night if you’re feeling fancy. There’s no doubt that The Radio Bar will be in high demand, so make sure to book your table in advance.
