Top 5: Ways to Eat Brunch in London This WeekendBy Alicia Grimshaw
You know the drill – don your winter garms and grab your Visa Debit, it’s time to get brunching like a boss. Forget your greasy spoon, here’s 5 brand new ways to eat brunch in London this weekend:
1. For a New Brunch Opening: Vinoteca City
What: Come the weekend, down tools and rally your chums for a leisurely brunch complete with breakfast wines, including a Pink Moscato 2014 by Innocent Bystander, Prosecco Treviso from Italy and a Vin Doux 2012 Samos from Greece at the recently opened Vinoteca City.
Eat and Drink: Indulge in hearty dishes of Berkshire sausage with a fried duck egg and brown sauce; sweet potato, beetroot and chard hash with a poached egg; and new season leek, ricotta and pine nut filo pie. From the bakery and fruits section, try the likes of the marsala poached black figs with apricots, medjool dates and pomegranate crème fraiche; grilled pink grapefruit with yogurt, London honey and pistachios; and sourdough toast with butter and jam. And there’s plenty of meat-free options too, such as the avocado and sumac baked ricotta on sourdough; French toast topped with blackberries; and lemon thyme roasted field mushrooms on sourdough.
