Top 5: London’s Most Decadent Pancakes for Pancake Day 2018By Alicia Grimshaw
Not happy with the classic lemon and sugar pancake combination? Say no more. If you really want to bathe in batter this Pancake Day, we’ve unearthed London’s most decadent creations. And by decadent, we really mean most outrageous. Here’s where to eat London’s most decadent pancakes:
1. For a Pancake Collab: Polo Bar x Jude’s Ice Cream
Order: Red Velvet Pancakes – Jude’s Cherry Ripple ice cream, glacé cherries and vanilla cream, topped with a slice of red velvet cake (£12)
The Run-Down: Polo Bar has teamed up with premium British ice cream brand, Jude’s, to create 3 specials for Shrove Tuesday – and they’re all outrageous. The exclusive menu features the red velvet and cherry ripple, uniting red velvet pancakes with Jude’s Cherry Ripple ice cream, glacé cherries and vanilla cream, topped with a hefty slice of fresh red velvet cake, and the comforting apple crumble and custard – fluffy vanilla pancakes, topped with Jude’s Custard ice cream, Polo Bar’s homemade custard and a piece of apple crumble. And there’s a tropical option, marrying fresh fruit and Jude’s Mango and Passion Fruit frozen yoghurt.

If you win, it’s on The Breakfast Club. If you lose, you’ll pay full price and they’ll donate all profits to their volunteering program Good Day Productions. The Challenge is available on Pancake Day 13th Feb only. No need to book, just rock up to any BC cafes throughout the day to take part. And if you don’t fancy a challenge, there’s pizza pancakes by Pizza Pilgrims and pulled pork pancakes with Bulleit Whisky sauce.
