1. For a Turkey Burger: Cut + Grind
The Burger: The Beast Burger – turkey patty, sausage, a festive rosti, Brussel sprouts and carrots (£13)
The Run Down: The Beast features a freshly-minced turkey patty flavoured with sage, onion and Christmas spices, topped with home-ground sausage and a festive rosti made of roast potatoes, parsnips, Brussel sprouts and carrots. Accompanied by cranberry sauce and braised red cabbage, the hybrid of Christmas dinner comes with triple- cooked Belgian fries and a jug of turkey gravy to drizzle, dip and eat by the spoonful. One of our favourite Christmas burgers in London, for sure.

2. For a Special Collaboration: MEATliquor x Tom Kerridge
The Burger: Burgducken – five bird patty, cranberry mayonnaise and Brussel sprout coleslaw (£12.50)
The Run Down: MEATliquor have teamed with Michelin Starred chef Tom Kerridge to create an entire five-bird festive roast in a bun for their Christmas special. The Burgducken combines turkey, duck, chicken, pigeon and pheasant with pork belly, all minced and styled into a handmade patty, and stacked on the classic MEATliquor style burger bun. Topped with a specially created punchy brandy and cranberry mayonnaise, and festive Brussel sprout coleslaw.

3. For a Cheesy Burger: Byron
The Burger: The Fromagemas – 6oz hamburger, all the cheese, crispy Grana Padano, red onion, smoked tomato ketchup, Grana Padano aioli, with a jug of Byron Cheese sauce (£11)
The Run Down: Probably the cheesiest Christmas burger to date, and one of Byron’s finest inventions – definitely one of our favourite Christmas burgers in London. The Fromagemas features a whopping 10 levels of cheese, including Cheddar and Red Leicester made by Barber’s, the oldest cheddar-makers in the world, as well as a jug of hot, melty Byron cheese to pour over the patty. Leave your lactose intolerant mates at home. Need more cheese? Order the mac n’ cheese bites topped with buffalo glaze, Byron Cheese sauce, spring onions and crispy bacon.

4. For a Flaming Burger: Hache
The Burger: Steak Flambe – Saucisse de Morteau, grape chutney and melted Camembert (£12.95)
The Run Down: The Christmas menu at Hache features something very special: the Steak Flambé. One of our top Christmas burgers in London this year – this burger consists of a special smoky saucisse de Morteau, complete with a tangy and tantalizing grape chutney and mouth-watering melted Camembert, in a sweet, signature Haché brioche bun. To top it all off, the Flambé recreates the iconic British Christmas pud – it’s doused with Cognac and set alight at your table.

5. For an American Inspired Burger: Dirty Bones
The Burger: The Holiday Burger – a venison and pork mince patty, hazelnut-brown butter mayo, smoked bacon and caramelised shallots (£10.50)
The Run Down: It’s no surprise that Dirty Bones, home of NYC comfort food and cocktails, know how to nail a Christmas burger. This year’s The Holiday Burger features a venison and pork mince patty with hazelnut-brown butter mayo, smoked bacon, caramelised shallots and red cabbage marmalade on seeded brioche. Hot, hot dang.

6. For the Full Works: Sophie Michell at Winterville
The Burger: Christmas Burger – buttermilk turkey breast, sausage stuffing, bread sauce mayo and cranberry relish (£8)
The Run Down: Celebrity chef Sophie Michell has brought her quality, nutritional food to Winterville in Clapham – and has knocked up a festive delight. Try her Christmas Burger – buttermilk turkey breast, sausage stuffing, bread sauce mayo and cranberry relish, along with the mega duck fat roast potatoes with Olgeshield cheese, stuffing crumble, bread sauce mayo and red onion pickle.

7. For a Burger Brunch Feast: Bad Egg
The Burger: Christmas Burger – beef patty topped with roast beef, horseradish and cheese fondue (£35pp for bottomless mimosa/santas secret slushie/prossecco, one main and one side each)
The Run Down: Another restaurant who has decided to incorporate some fondue lovin’ within their Christmas creation – and we ain’t complaining, this is one of the best Christmas burgers in London. Bag Egg’s festive treat is a towering delight – a rare breed beef patty is topped with roast beef, horseradish and cheese fondue. If you want to keep thing more traditional, try The Buffalo Turkey Bun, with slow cooked turkey and buffalo sauce.

8. For a Vegan Burger: The Vurger Co
The Burger: Christmas Burger – roasted parsnip and chestnut patty, topped with homemade sage stuffing and parsnip tails (£7.95)
The Run Down: Packed full of 100% plant-based goodness, the Christmas burger is made from a roasted parsnip and chestnut patty, topped with homemade sage stuffing, parsnip tails and chilli cranberry jam. All slathered together with clementine mayo. It’s one of the best vegan Christmas burgers in London, trust us.

The Burger: O Christmas Three – beef, venison or chicken, topped with hash browns, smoked Applewood cheese, cabbage, bacon and tarragon mayo (£9.95)
The Run Down: Tired of turkey? Can’t stomach another drop of cranberry sauce? Stop lying to your Aunt Susan about the quality of her ‘homemade’ stuffing and instead stuff your face with GBK’s Christmas special, O Christmas Three. Choose from beef, venison or chicken, topped with ho-ho-hash browns, smoked Applewood cheese, cabbage and bacon and tarragon mayo – finished off with a devil on horseback and a sidecar of gravy.

10. For a Quirky Burger: MeatUp
The Burger: Christmas burger – beef patty, turkey, bacon, pigs in blankets and stuffing (£16 to include a shortrib, smoked cheddar and chilli maple BBQ quesadilla appetiser, fries and a slaw)
The Run Down: MeatUp have opened something quite extraordinary: a burger pop-up. You can pick and choose from colourful buns to toppings that range from mac n’ cheese, duck pastrami to chicken tikka and naan, and lime and chilli prawns. If that’s too much for you, order the Christmas Burger, which includes a patty topped with roast turkey, bacon, pigs in blankets, stuffing, sliced brussels sprouts and brie, before being slathered in tangy cranberry sauce. The Christmas masterpiece is then encased in festive red bun and held together with a candy cane, before being served with a side of gravy for the ultimate dip.

11. For a Swedish Inspired Burger: Lagom at Winterville London
The Burger: Turkey bun – turkey breast, lingonberry and chilli sauce, parsnip crisps and ‘slaw (£6)
The Run Down: Exclusively available at the Street Feast arena at Winterville, Swedish barbecue legends, Lagom, have rustled up a special Christmas bite with a Nordic spin. The turkey bun is everything you could want from a festive burger – griddled turkey breast (cooked with chicken fat for maximum juiciness), topped with Lingonberry and chilli sauce, parsnip crisps, ‘slaw and Winterville white sauce. One of our favourite Christmas burgers in London, for sure.

12. For a Scottish Burger: Mac and Wild
The Burger: Christmas Burger – venison patty, melted Morangie Brie, red cabbage, shredded sprout tops and pork stuffing (£11.50)
The Run Down: Mac & Wild have stuck to what they know with their Christmas burger – simple, honest ingredients. The burger is a heavenly combination of Scottish venison, melted Morangie Brie, red cabbage, shredded sprout tops and pork stuffing – served with festive fries. It’s the stuff of Christmas dreams.

13. For a European Burger: Herman Ze German
The Burger: Ze Turkey Schnitzel – tender turkey schnitzel, bacon, lettuce, cranberry sauce and mayo (£8.95)
The Run Down: Herman ze German presents Ze Turkey Schnitzel sandwich for the festive period: a lightly toasted brioche bun filled with a tender turkey schnitzel, crispy bacon, lettuce, lashings of cranberry sauce and mayo. Soak up some more yuletide joy with a cup of Herman’s famed mulled wine – perhaps one of the more authentic Christmas burgers in London, if such a thing exists.

The Burger: The Saucy Santa Burger – turkey patty, red cabage, pigs in blankets and cranberry ketchup (£15)
The Run Down: D&D’s The Chop Houses (Paternoster, South Place, Butlers Wharf) aren’t messing around when it comes to their Christmas burger. The Saucy Santa Burger ticks all the boxes, and is basically a Boxing Day buffet in a bun. The burger features a minced turkey patty topped with pickled red cabbage slaw, pigs in blankets and cranberry ketchup.

The Burger: Christmas Dinner Burger – turkey, chestnut and cranberry patty, potato salad, sausage and apricot stuffing fritter (£18.50 with a side of tater tots)
The Run Down: This year sees the return of All Star Lanes’ legendary Christmas Dinner Burger – and it’s better than ever. A turkey, chestnut and cranberry patty beneath a generous layer of duck fat roasted potato salad, topped with a sausage and apricot stuffing fritter. And it’s served with a side of tater tots. Winner.
