About Time: You Played Bar BingoBy Angelica Malin
New cocktail crawl alert! Bar Bingo gives you a chance to explore the city’s best bars – with drinks along the way for just £5 a pop.
Launching for two days on 20th and 21st September, the aim of Bar Bingo is to visit all three of the bars featured on your ‘Bar Bingo card’, ticking them off as you go. At each of the three bars, the Bar Bingo customer can buy a special £5 cocktail, which will only be available exclusively to them on that night.
Bar Bingo: How it Works
On purchasing your £10 ticket online, you’ll be sent your ‘start bar’ location. On arriving at the first bar, promptly at 7pm, you’ll be given your Bar Bingo Card. You’ll then visit the three bars in this order, ticking them off as you go along. In each bar you’ll get a special £5 cocktail on presentation of your Bar Bingo card. You’ll have an hour to spend in each bar with your cocktail, before moving on to your next bar.
Each off-menu cocktail will be named after a bingo number – maybe it’ll be a Dirty Gertie (30), a Was She Worth It? (56) or perhaps a Two Fat Ladies (88).
Bar Bingo: The Bars
Launching initially in Shoreditch, Bar Bingo will be a chance for cocktail lovers to explore some of the area’s best cocktail bars and crazy hidden drinking dens, without having to worry about booking a table, or stressing about ringing up a huge bar tab (always handy for that awks first date).
The first Bar Bingo in September will explore 3 hidden Shoreditch bars:
– 5cc Singer Tavern: A moody cocktail bar hidden inside a pub cellar, known for its hefty gin collection.
– Jones Family Project basement: Locate the secret door down a Shoreditch alley and you’ll find the entrance. Input the right code into the keypad, and you’ll be invited into this quirky downstairs lounge, with trees growing out of the tables – you won’t be stuck for Instagram moments in here.
– And, there’ll be a secret bar wild card. All we can say is, it’ll be a top notch hidden bar with epic cocktails.
