There’s some fantastic upcoming London events this week – from skating to Champagne tasting, here’s the events you simply can’t miss:
Tuesday 10th January
What: To celebrate the launch of the new lululemon store opening on Regent Street this week, lululemon are hosting a series of fun and complimentary sweat sessions to kick off the New Year. Think spinning on the rooftops and yoga in-store, mindfulness workshops, meditation ‘OM the move’, and sweat sessions to get those endorphines pumping.
Why: On Tuesday, join the candlelit yoga class with Catherine Weston. Start the new year with a juicy flow, twisting, stretching, toning, bending, ringing out the old and radiating new energy from the core, opening the heart, and revealing your inner glow.

For a Fitness Class: Pop Brixton
What: January doesn’t have to be a time for detox and deprivation, this month Pop Brixton encourages guests to try something new for the New Year. Reopening for 2017 this week with a schedule of alternative fitness classes, January sales from their vibrant independent retailers and a new food offering, there are plenty of ways to start the New Year in style.
Why: For those looking to reinvigorate their fitness regime in 2017, you can overcome the busy treadmils at the gym with Pop Brixton’s new High Intensity Training class, the ultimate body workout, or dance into the New Year with their energetic new Zumba class. Both launch on 10th January and continue weekly, every Tuesday.

Thursday 12th January
For a Last Chance Skate: Somerset House
What: This week is your last chance to attend Club Nights at Skate at Somerset House. On Thursday, the iconic ice rink will be turned into a dance floor, with popping’ tunes, disco lights and alcoholic bevvys to fuel you after a rave on the ice.
Why: Skate away the January blues with a soundtrack brought to you by international party DJ and broadcaster, Goldierocks. After your hour on the rink, make your way to the bar and order a few tipples. Our tip: wear gloves and wrap up warm. Skating happens rain or shine.

Why: From Jamaican reggae and London grime via hip hop, garage, drum & bass and dubstep, some of the scenes’ greatest MCs and vocalists join a 20 piece orchestra to perform tracks from Outlook’s history. US rapper Pharoahe Monch, Rebel MC aka Congo Natty, reggae songstress Dawn Penn and electronic experimentalists Foreign Beggars all feature, plus East End crew Newham Generals, ragga don General Levy and grime lyricists Flowdan and Killa P.

For Cheese and Champers: Champagne + Fromage
What: What’s better than cheese? Cheese and champagne, obviously. Champagne + Fromage in Covent Garden are hosting a special Cheese and Champagne tasting night, where you’ll discover the best cheesy bites around, and sip on premium award-winning Champagnes.
Why: The evening will allow you to try the best combinations of regional cheeses with a selection of four different Champagnes from independent producers. Each champagne will be paired with the ideal dish including warm tartine, cured meats, and a selection of fine French cheeses.

For London’s Largest Fringe Arts Event: VAULT Festival
What: VAULT Festival returns from 25th January to 5th March 2017 at its original home beneath Waterloo Station and, for the first time, at satellite venues Network Theatre and Morley College. Boldly diverse, the programme features a myriad of shows exploring many themes via many more mediums.
Why: Every week, VAULT Film Festival premiers numerous exciting shorts and features, including are dark_net staring Johnny Vegas and Love Comes Later, a London premiere staring Sarita Choudhury (Homeland). Laughs-a-plenty are in store in Adele Is Younger Than Us, giving voice to a generation of frustrated ‘not-quite-Adeles’. Meanwhile the VAULT Comedy Festival also promises a fresh line-up stepping up to the mic. At VAULT, when the curtain comes down the band starts up. Dance the night away every weekend at huge themed parties including the Valentine’s Ball, London’s favourite Mardi Gras party, Jay Gatsby’s own party weekend and more. Time Out present the Opening and Closing parties of the festival with music specially curated by their talented team.
