This hotel is super, super cool. There’s no better way to describe it; slick, modern, eye-catching, it’s the place to stay in Naples and here’s why:
The first thing you need to know about Romeo Hotel in Naples is: location. It’s perfectly placed facing the enchanting Bay of Naples, Mount Vesuvius, Capri and Ischia, only moments from the heart of the city – it’s a great place for starting a holiday in Naples as you’ll be moments from the city’s main attractions. It’s a short walking distance from San Carlo Theater, Piazza del Plebiscito, the city’s vibrant historic center, and the world famous Spaccanapoli. It’s great if you’re looking to do a day trip from Naples, as the hotel is located next to Molo Beverello harbour, making it easy to hop on a ferry, for the perfect day trip to Capri, Ischia, Amalfi, or Positano. These day trips only take 30 minutes by ferry, so it’s a pop, really.
The hotel isn’t like most grand, 5* offerings in Naples – it’s much more slick and minimal in its design than most, and really stands out for its look. Designed by famous Japanese architect Kenzo Tange & Associates, the hotel blends together modern design, contemporary art and classic Italian style with impressive ease. The hotel is made up of 83 luxury rooms and suites, with spectacular views of the sea and city, including the Sorrento Coast. There are three types of room – Deluxe Back, Deluxe Front, and Studio Corner, which are all simple and elegant in design. There are also five types of suites at the Romeo hotel – Fitness Suites, Wellness Suite, Romeo Bay View Suites, Garden & Pool Suite and the Romeo Skyline Suite, which are incredibly spacious, The Wellness Suite boasts its own steam room, sauna and outdoor jacuzzi – you can’t get much more luxury than that.
The rooms are all beautiful in design, featuring in-room espresso machines, luxurious beds, a custom pillow menu and Bang & Olufsen technology. The bathrooms feature marble, metal and ceramic related in perfect harmony and include toiletry products custom made for the hotel. You’ll totally fall in love with the look and style of the rooms, featuring open plan, spacious living rooms and stunning furnishings.
Come here to detox and relax. As well as a rooftop pool, Dogana del Sale is Romeo hotel’s wellness centre – it’s an exclusive 10,000 square foot space with a state-of-the-art gym, relaxation area and treatment rooms. Dogana del Sale includes eight treatment rooms, emotional showers, three different jacuzzis, Finnish and infrared sauna, steam bath, frigidarium, Kneipp treatment and Salt Room.
The gym is super impressive – you can work out in the 3,200 square foot gym, with the latest Technogym weights and cardio equipment. The spa offers a range of fantastic treatments, such as Hot Stone Massage, which uses stones at a temperature between 38 and 40 degrees, and Vitalic Facials, using pomegranate extract. The hotel has some great restaurants, too. Their dining options include an awesome sushi restaurant, with has an awesome design, Romeo Bar, on the ground floor, panoramic Beluga Skybar & Restaurant on the 9th floor, and Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant Il Comandante on the 10th floor.
Come here for the views; Il Comandante, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, is located on the top floor of the hotel and offers gourmet fine dining with spectacular views of the bay at night – it must be seen to be believed. What’s more, Beluga Skybar & Restaurant, located on the 9th floor of the hotel, serves up incredible views along with tasty cocktails and snacks in an urban chic atmosphere. For breakfast, Beluga serves buffet breakfast in the morning, which is a truly wonderful experience as the sun rises. Foodie heaven.
